HILARY-MAE GANNON

Chartered Physiotherapist
Hilary is the Chartered Physiotherapist behind Movement Room Physiotherapy, She has over 15 years experience in musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy having worked in Ireland, New Zealand and the UK. Having trained in University College Dublin and Trinity College Dublin.

Hilary currently splits her time between working as a Senior Physiotherapist in Beacon Hospital, Working as a contractor for the IRFU providing cover across men’s and women’s squads and providing physiotherapy support and screening to musicians and performers before and during their tours.
​
Hilary has gained invaluable experience spending the majority of her career working with elite athletes and working collaboratively with some of the top orthopaedic and sports physicians, sports coaches, strength and conditioning specialists, sports scientists and more and as a Skerries local wanted to share this experience and her approach with her Clinic Space Movement Room Physiotherapy.

Hilary is trained in vestibular rehab (University College London Ear Institute) and treats all forms of Vestibular and balance disorders, Hilary has an interest in orthotic prescription and is happy to advise on footwear or take impressions for custom made orthotics. Hilary is a trained Pilates instructor in both matwork and reformer and also holds Strength and conditioning qualifications which form the basis of Hilary’s approach to encouraging movement and strength to prevent or rehab injuries. Hilary Also holds manual therapy and dry needling qualifications.

Some of Hilary’s career highlights:

Lead physiotherapist for Wales Women’s football team for 4 years through multiple euro qualifying and world cup qualifying campaigns, implementing screening and education around female athletes and working on ACL prevention strategies.

Lead physiotherapist with Wales Women’s Rugby team and covered World Cup, Six Nations and Autumn International campaigns along with Rugby 7s tournaments worldwide

International Cricket as Lead Women’s Physiotherapist Cricket Ireland

Consultant to Badminton Wales working with athletes individually and covering European tournaments.

When in New Zealand Hilary worked with a number of Black Fern XV’s and Rugby 7s Players and covered a number of New Zealand U20’s training camps.

More recently has enjoyed working with touring musicians and performers both in physiotherapy screening and implementation of Injury prevention programs prior to tour, along with providing physiotherapy while on tour.
